The local CBA Asset Management, a supermarket operator, earned a profit of 1.4 million leva in 2007, according to the consolidated financial report of the company filed with the Bulgarian stock exchange. The report reflects last year's performance of three subsidiary companies of the same name based in Veliko Turnovo, Rousse and Gabrovo, Dnevnik Daily reported on March 4. The recent share capital increase and the purchase of several stores provided a solid boost to asset growth and its own capital, shows the financial report. The global real estate company ERA has predicted a 15% increase in the prices of real estate properties in Bulgaria in 2008. According to ERA, the number of real estate deals in Bulgaria in 2007 grew between 4% and 5% to reach a total of about 325 000. 25% of the deals were made by foreign buyers. Two-room apartments with an area of about 60 square meters remain the residential property of greatest demand on the Bulgarian market, the ERA research shows. Bulgaria's annual increase of the residential credits is estimated at 62%, with an average annual increase of 7,1% in the Eurozone. Intense hotel and complex construction will continue despite warnings that the Bulgarian coastal region already faced problems with construction density. The demand and supply of construction plots in the coastal region maintained high levels, 24 Chassa reported. Southern regions attracted more investment, 24 Chassa said. Property in resort towns near Bourgas sell three times better than estates in the Varna region. Sunny Beach coastal resort ranks highest in the list of resorts attracting property investment.
