Environment and Water Affairs Minister Djevdet Chakurov would impose a ban on the construction in Bulgaria’s protected coastal areas located in the Emine-Irakli region. The ban would be in force for a period of one year. The protected areas are home of some rare wildlife species, a Council of Ministers press release said. Chakurov said that Nessebar municipality received 813 plans for construction in the region, including the setting up of resorts. If such projects were carried out unique species could become extinct, Chakurov said. The Cabinet approved an idea for the creation of a workgroup that would draft unified procedures code for future construction in the coastal areas. Representatives of the Environment, Regional Development, Agriculture and Economy ministries would... more
If you’ve ever wondered why so many Britons seem to be fleeing the UK in search of a better life abroad, the answers have come in the form of survey findings from an international removal company who cleverly took it upon themselves to ask those they were removing why they were leaving the UK behind. The findings are relatively unsurprising if we’re all honest with ourselves – but they really do firm up widely held suspicions that the current government in the UK has a lot to answer for. Increase in the lot prices had an impact on the prices of all other real estate, 24 Chassa daily said. A differentiation in site prices increase had begun in Sofia in 2006. The value of some lots had raised by five to six per cent, while prices of others reached an increase of 15 to 17 per cent, imoti.bg said. Location and investor interest had bigger impact on price change then the supply. Foreign investors interest in real estate made a number of owners offer their property for sale, 24 Chassa said. The most expensive lots were offered in the centre of Sofia. Price of a... more
The Directorate for National Construction Control (DNCC) issued 18 orders for the removal of illegal constructions in the Iskur Dam region. Once these orders are enforced, owners will be asked to tear down the building voluntarily, DNCC representative Krasimir Petkov said. In March DNCC issued nine orders and nine more were issued in May, so that their total number reached 18. Five of the buildings are grouped together to form a vacation village. Sofia municipality is inspecting all of the constructions in the region and will decide which of the buildings are illegal in the near future. In case more illegal constructions are found, DNCC will issue further orders, Petkov said. more
