Kremikovtzi Mill Sold To Zhevago In One Week? 18/03/2008
The Kremikovtzi deal will be finalized in one week, well-informed sources told the Standart. The Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria, Viktor Kalnik, confirmed the news. Konstantin Zhevago will most probably buy Bulgaria's metallurgical giant mill in one week, Kalnik announced in Sandanski (South West Bulgaria) on Saturday. Alexander Tomov, second director of the mill told The Standart that the information is confidential, but news is expected. Several days earlier he announced that he would be glad if Zhevago heads both Kremikovtzi and FC CSKA. more

Bulgaria Named World's Strongest House Price Riser 19/03/2008
Yet another research has pointed Bulgaria as the country with the world's strongest house price growth last year amidst a global cooling of the property market. The study carried out by Global Property Guide (GPG) said Bulgaria saw the world's strongest house price growth at 30.6% (15.4% in real terms) to end-Q3 2007 from a year earlier. Shanghai came in second, despite efforts by the Beijing government to cool the market. House prices there rose by 27,85 percent in 2007. The survey, which provides information for potential property investors, says that while the housing market gained momentum in the Asia-Pacific region, it slowed in Europe and "crashed" in the US. Bulgarias Seaside In For Long Summer The Telegraph 12/05/2008
Poor infrastructure, polluted beaches, low standards of construction, noisy building sites, poor service and bankruptcies will put Bulgaria's Black Sea resorts under pressure this summer, British newspaper The Telegraph reported on May 9. Problems with the power supply, refuse waters and pollution have persisted last summer and have made an appearance this year already, although the tourist season is yet to start properly, the paper said. "Much of the infrastructure along the coast – including power supplies – was built 20 years ago and was designed for far fewer holidaymakers. The water treatment system at Golden Sands can successfully service 15 000 people, but not the current 40 000," The Telegraph wrote. Technopolis Pernik Breaks Ground 28/03/2008
The first-sod ceremony of the new Technopolis outlet in Pernik took place on March 25, sgrada.com reported. The future retail unit will be located at 21 Kiril and Metodii Str, near Elena Georgieva sewing factory. The outlet will have a gross actual area of 6 500 sq m, about 2 000 sq m of which is allocated for retail space. There will be more than 100 parking places. Investment is estimated at 5 million leva. Stroyconsult Ltd is the main contractor of the project, opening is scheduled for July. To date, it is the 18th outlet of the hi-tech produces retailer, which has invested more than 111 million leva over the past seven years. more
