Office space in the region increased from 167 000 sq m in 2005 to 251 000 sq m in 2006, investor.bg reported. In comparison, the total volume of office space in the centre of Sofia increased by 9.5 per cent. Class A offices added up to 241 000 sq m, an increase of 34 per cent. Class B offices reached 305 500 sq m, an increase of 21.5 per cent. Established European Markets Attract British Buyers 31/03/2008
Overseas property buyers from the UK are continuing to favour established European markets, according to experts. Assetz Finance stated that during the last few months, there has been a surge in the overall number of enquiries it received from prospective investors in foreign property. However, it singled out property in France and property in Spain as the two locations that were attracting the most interest. Commenting on this trend, Katy Hepworth of Assetz Finance said this could be partly due to the good deals now on offer to consumers. Specifically, she stated that French and Spanish mortgage lenders are now allowing access to a much wider range of products. Image Revamp For Bulgarian Property Investment. 20/03/2008
It appears that attempts to ready Bulgaria for EU accession are gaining momentum, with tourism and property investment at the forefront of much that is being done. With the ski season coming to an end, attention is now turning to the stunning Black Sea regions and the authorities in Bulgaria have been busy working on measures to maximise the potential of the already popular resorts. Already, a National Tourism Board has been created, which will meet in May to discuss ways of uniting large investors, non-governmental organisations and businesses that provide for tourism, reports the Sofia Echo. Many of the plans will directly impact upon property investment in Bulgaria, with analysts frequently observing that a successful tourist industry is the first step towards a property boom.... more
