Gtc To Invest 40m Euro In Croatian Mall 09/04/2008
Real estate developer Globe Trade Centre (GTC) will invest 40 million euro in a new shopping centre in the town of Osijek in Croatia, consultant and leasing agent for the project Colliers International Croatia said on April 7. The development, Avenue Mall Osijek, will have 26 000 sq m of retail space for rent, Colliers said in a statement. The shopping centre is scheduled to be completed by end-2009. GTC has already secured a four hectare plot for the new mall, less than two kilometres from downtown Osijek, Croatia's fourth largest city, Colliers said. The catchment area of the new development is more than half a million people within a 30 minutes drive. Sofia Mall Market To Reach Saturation Soon 27/06/2008
In 2008, entrepreneurs still find commercial and business centres the most appealing projects for investment. But there is a possibility this tendency to change after 2010, when all planned construction is completed, the market in Sofia might become saturated, consultants Arco Real Estate said in a statement. In addition to the four shopping malls, there are a further 18 projects announced. Bulgaria's capital experienced a real boom in the sphere of commercial complex construction in 2006, Italian financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported. The newspaper said that four new retail centres opened doors in 2006 and 11 malls are still under construction. The report also mentions Sofia’s problems with the lack of proper infrastructure, public transport and refuse collection systems. Property prices in Bulgaria’s southern town of Melnik and in neighbouring areas have soared due to the increased interest in the wine-growing region, Standart daily wrote on March 10. The little town and the near-by villages have recently seen a flood of Bulgarian and foreign visitors willing to buy property in the area, which in turn pushed up real estate prices in the region.
