Velingrad is a town in Bulgaria and one of the most popular Bulgarian balneological resorts. It lies at the western end of Chepino Valley, part of the Rhodope Mountains in Southern Bulgaria. Together with the numerous mineral waters, Velingrad boasts another natural phenomenon as well — the Kleptuza, the biggest Karst spring in Bulgaria.

Properties in the area are quite scarce but extremely valuable to own. One of the greatest assets of the area is the Batak Lake. Plots on this specific lake are one of the most attractive properties one can have.

Regulations For Municipal Property Swaps Revised 15/03/2008
Legal changes will limit the swapping of municipal for private property, it emerged after  parliament adopted three bills of amendments to the Municipal Property Act on first reading. Swaps will be done only on the initiative of municipalities for the purpose of implementing infrastructural or investment projects. According to the second bill, municipal property will be sold only by public auction, except when property is liquidated. The change of ownership from public to private or vice versa will have to be approved by two-thirds of the municipal advisers. Currently, only a simple majority is required. The third amendment is aimed at preventing the delay of expropriation of property when the owner contests the price in court. more

Expats Urged To 'embrace Foreign Way Of Life' 26/04/2008
British people who move abroad have been urged to try their hardest to fit into their new community. Steven Quinn, who has been living abroad since 2001, said expatriates would get more out of the experience if they tried to assimilate. Speaking to the Sun, he recommended that people dispense with their UK lifestyle if they wish to integrate fully. Mr Quinn told the newspaper: "We have found that you have to embrace the new cultures and the way that they live." He added that if people follow this advice, they will find it easier to settle into their new place of residence. This, he said, would make the reality of living in another country meet their initial expectations. Earlier this month, a report in the Telegraph stated that many British people are thinking of packing up and... more

Bulgaria's Property Market Could Go Either Way 09/06/2008
In Spain you have properties that are being slashed in price, in the UK you have a real estate market that is stagnating, in Northern Cyprus you have a market that has stagnated for so long that it is actually doing quite well thanks to its genuine bargain status, and then you have Bulgaria’s property market that could go either way – i.e., up or down. There are robust fundamentals supporting a residential and commercial property market that bode well for long-term strength in Bulgaria – but there are also some serious and significant flaws in Bulgaria’s property market that could undermine it catastrophically and for the long-term.  Here’s what we think… Bulgaria has a good little tourism industry.  It is built on a number of positive factors – the nation is easily and affordably... more

Eurelated Property Price Boom Predictions Fail Coming True In Bulgarias Varna 12/03/2008
The price of property in the coastal city of Varna varied between 500 and 1500 euro per sq m,  head of the Varna real estate association (VANI) Dobromir Ganev said. Nearly 15 000 properties were offered for sale, said Ganev. The average prices were 700 to 800 euro a sq m, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. Predictions of major price increase related to Bulgaria's EU entry have not become fact in Varna yet, said Ganev. The increase registered so far is one per cent per month. Ganev said that the demand for office property is expected to decrease. Office rent prices remain between four and eight euro per sq m. Price differences resulted mainly from the location of the building, said Ganev. After a price increase rents are expected to reach 10 to 15 euro per sq m. Some... more

Romanians Interested In Bulgarias Property Market 14/03/2008
Increasing number of Romanian investors show interest in the purchase of lodging or a plot in  neighbouring Bulgaria or Hungary. The two countries were most attractive for investment foreign destinations, Romanian daily newspaper Gandul said. Bulgaria's Black Sea coastal resorts interested the majority of Romanian and British property investors, Gandul said. Investors purchase mainly villas. The price of vacation property in Bulgaria is half the price in Romania. A house near the coastal city of Varna costs nearly 30 000 euro. An additional advantage was the better road infrastructure in Bulgaria's coastal region as compared to the one in Romania, the report said. Developed infrastructure would contribute to investment growth in Bulgaria, Gandul reported. more
