No Real Estate Bubble In Bulgaria Unicredit Bulbank 10/03/2008
Even though yields have decreased in recent years, Bulgaria's property sector was still a sound investment, fetching satisfactory returns at low risk, the chief executive of Bulgaria's biggest bank, UniCredit Bulbank, Levon Hampartzoumian told news conference. It was also unlikely to suffer the repercussions of global credit crunch, because business climate and economy models in the country followed a different pattern. Bansko Attracts German Investors 15/03/2008
German business has professed an interest in the development of Bansko, said the German ambassador to Bulgaria, Michael Gayer, during his visit to the resort town. He was accompanied by a 12-member delegation from the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, headed by its president Bertram Rollman. The German ambassador pledged his support for future contacts between Bansko and similar German towns. He expressed his hope that, in the future, businessmen from Bansko would team up with German companies to apply jointly for common projects in infrastructure and culture exchange areas. Ec Returns To Bulgaria 104 Million Eur 03/04/2008
To Bulgaria will be brought back 103,72 million EUR from the direct payments, stated Agriculture Minister Nihat Kabil. He was informed with a letter by the EC, received in the end of last week. The minister explained that there were no ceased sources by the Commission over the programs of the Agriculture Ministry. The EC's certificated agency sees 4 weaknesses of Bulgaria - in the administrative capacity, the need of better book-keeping of sources over market mechanisms, insufficient capacity in regional offices of the Agencies for applying the program for village regions and the need in the internal order of the repaying agency. Kamchiya Resort To Receive Heavy Investment, Mayor Says 01/04/2008
The resort village of Kamchiya, located 28 km southward from Varna, will attract significant investment to the tune of between 200 and 250 million euro over the next two or three years, Avren municipality mayor Krassimir Todorov said, as quoted by Bulgarian news agency (BTA). The projected investment will add between 12 000 and 15 000 new beds to the capacity of the holiday compound, he added. A new vacation complex will open doors in close proximity to Kamchiya village this year. It will deliver 200 apartments and 70 studios. Finance is secured by a British company, Todorov told media, without disclosing its name. Residential property registered the most dynamic development among all sectors in the Bulgarian real estate market, a Colliers International report for the first half of 2006 shows. The apartments offered for sale in Ivan Vazov district have become the second most expensive after real estate located in the area of Doctor's Garden. Rental rates remain almost unchanged, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. According to the report sales prices are also beginning to stabilise and the increase registered over the first six months of the year was marginal.
