A new spa complex, worth 2.5 million leva (1.2 million euro), will be developed in the town of Kyustendil this year, mayor Petar Paunov said, as quoted by local dailyVyara on March 25. It will be a landmark building for the town, located about 70km south-west of Sofia, Paunov added. The compound would be erected near the Ossogovo stadium, through public private partnership, changing the face of the town and hopefully contributing to its tourist attractiveness, according to the local authorities. The spa centre would have six mineral water swimming pools with indoor facilities that will be able to function all year round, Paunov said. Tourists would also have easy access to the hotel part. Bulgaria Property Fund Sells Unfinished Office Building For 17.5m Euro 20/03/2008
Bulgaria Property Fund (BPF) has concluded a preliminary contract for the sale of an office building on Sofia’s G.M. Dimitrov Boulevard for 17.5 million euro, excluding value-added tax, to be paid in instalments tied to the stage of completion of the building, Dnevnik daily reported. The buyer is Bridgecorp, the current owner of Landmark’s property portfolio, which, in turn, was sold to Alfa Developments only two days ago. It is not yet clear whether the BPF’s building, a subject of the yesterday’s transaction with Bridgecorp, was included in the aforementioned sale of Landmark’s property portfolio as of two days ago, Dnevnik daily said. The lack of empty construction plots in Sofia and the resulting high prices are driving investors beyond the city boundaries to suburban areas in search of available building space, Kapital weekly reported. Unsurprisingly, the capital is the most densely populated and built-up area in the country, whereas suburban villages in Sofia region are one of the country's most sparsely inhabited areas. But prompted by lack of available land for construction, as well as the desire to escape urban congestion and noise, many investors have set their sights on areas around Sofia in recent months. Greek Copelouzos Group Lands On Bulgarian Real Estate Market 14/03/2008
Greek industrial and construction Copelouzos Group chose Bulgarian market as the first destination of its international expansion plan, investor.bg reported. The company is a part of the HELPE-THRAKI consortium, which is developing the Bourgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline on the Greek side, and, as such, has established some useful contacts with Bulgarian business. This year Copelouzos Group plans to invest 15 million euro on Greek and Bulgarian real estate markets, according to the Greek publication Capital.gr.
