Bulgarian producer prices increased 0,9% m/m in February, after falling by 0,7% in January, Reuters revealed on Friday. Producer prices are up almost 14% y/y in February, marking a growth from 13% in January. Prices in mining industry went up 3,5% on the month, processing industry prices increased 0,8%. Prices of gas, water, power and electricity were up 0,2%. Reuters also informed the index of total producer prices, including prices on the local market for Bulgarian products sold worldwide, rose 1% on a monthly basis and was up 14,6% y/y in February. more

Growing numbers of Britons are retiring abroad, swapping the cold and rain for mostly warmer climes. No wonder that they are now known as “snowbirds”. About 1m British pensioners are drawing their state pension abroad, according to the Department for Work and Pensions. This is up from 770,000 in 1997.
