New Town Constructed In Bulgarias Seaside 07/03/2008
A new town, with expected population of over 25 000 people, will be built within the next two years. The town will be constructed in the region of the Black Sea Popski bay, famous for its clear beaches, 24 Chassa reported. According to the investors' plans the villas and hotels in the town will host over 25 000 tourists during the summer season. The region is part of Tsarevo municipality. Tsarevo mayor Petko Arnaudov said that the most luxurious part of the town would be the Crocodile Shores complex. The new town will include several such complexes united by a modern infrastructure. Revamp Of Culture House In Plovdiv Starts April 7 05/04/2008
Repairs and revamp of the Trade Unions' Culture House in Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv and its re-purposing into an arts centre will start on April 7, the consortium that will carry out the works said on April 4, as quoted by investor.bg. The official launch of the project will set out with a presentation of the architectural and building design in Saint Petersburg Park-hotel. The consortium comprising Greek developer Aktor and its Bulgarian subsidiary won the tender under the Public Procurement Act at the end of last year. The project has also secured the approval of the Plovdiv municipality. The first phase of the revamp is due for completion in 30 months' time. Bulgaria Outstrips In Tourists' Interest Greece And Turkey On Moscow Expo 18/03/2008
Fortunately for Bulgaria, the interest towards the tourism stand of our country on the tourism expo ' Intourmarket 2008' in Moscow was much higher than the one towards the stands of Greece and Turkey. That was announced by the State Agency of Tourism (SAT) director Anelia Krushkova. The Bulgarian stand was opened yesterday, it is located immediately next to the entrance of the exposition's hall. Bulgaria is presented by 30 tourist firms and the representatives of Bulgaria have conducted meetings with the representatives of the tour operators. On the meeting the Russian tour - operators have brought forward few concrete problems connected with the visa issuing for Russian citizens, who want to visit Bulgaria. Bulgaria Property City Prices Will Go Up In 2008 20/03/2008
Shortage of land in cities in Bulgaria where developers wanted to build led to lavish compensations to land owners in the form of apartments. The shortage is strongest in Sofia, Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv. As a result the prices of residential property in Sofia has increased by 25% last year (source: National Statistical Institute). The trend is expected to continue also this year, driving strongly the prices up in the rest of the country. In 2007 tourism and property in Bulgaria made 60 per cent of foreign direct investment. That is 20 per cent higher than 2006 but is expected to grow at a lower rate this year, about 10 per cent. For 2007 the foreign direct investment in Bulgaria amounts at about 5.3 billion euro. more
