Property Prices In Bulgarias Smaller Regions Remain Unchanged 13/03/2008
Several years ago, analysts in Bulgaria found it difficult to believe that property investors will become interested in areas close to Bulgaria's bigger cities and will launch a number of projects there. Investors have worked on entire apartment and villa complexes in smaller and less popular regions, 24 Chassa newspaper reported. Significant amount of funds was allocated to such projects. A number of property seekers showed more interest in getting a new apartment close to some major city, rather than an old house located in it, the report said. As a result of the constant construction, the price of property in such regions remained almost unchanged throughout 2006. In some regions, the price of property even went down. Based on Artu Paasilinna's bestselling novel, the film Vatanen's Hare tells the story of a life-changing trip around Canada. The movie was shot in Velingrad two years ago. The producer's decision to use this relatively unknown Bulgarian spa resort, 133km south of Sofia, caused a stir. Does this little town, nestled at the foot of the Rila and Rhodope mountains in the central part of the Chepino Valley, resemble Canada in any way? The answer is, absolutely not. But it is surrounded by pine trees. And, as the film crew probably discovered, it can be just as tranquil as Canada's forests. Prices Of Lodging In Bulgarian Resorts Decrease By 20 Per Cent 10/03/2008
After the New Year’s celebrations, prices of a night’s lodgings in the winter resorts decreased by 10 to 20 per cent compared to the end of 2007, Bulgarian Tourist Chamber said. The decrease is even larger if compared to prices around New Year’s Eve, the chamber told investor.bg. According to tourism branch data, Borovets was the most expensive resort for a vacation in the 2007/2008 season, followed by Bansko and Pamporovo. Vacation in the Chepelare resort was far less expensive. Bansko, however, was the most visited resort during the season. The hotels in the resort were ‘a hit’ among Bulgarian and foreign skiers, investor.bg said. As a result, the ski ticket prices were unlikely to drop even towards the end of the season.
