Despite protests of residents from southwestern Bulgarian towns, concerning the inclusion of areas in Natura 2000 European environment network, the list of terrains will remain unchanged, Environment and Water Affairs Minister Djevdet Chakurov said. Residents of Bansko, Razlog and Dobrinishte have been protesting against the inclusion of land in the protected network. Razlog mayor Liuben Tatarski called only for the inclusion of lands located in Rila and Pirin national parks. Chakurov said that some terrains, found within the three municipalities will also become part of the network. The national bio-diversity council took the decision on the protected areas, as well as on the buffer zones located nearby, said Chakurov. Black Sea Investment real estate investment trust (REIT) issue rights will trade on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) starting from April 14 until April 24, the REIT said in a filing to BSE on April 4. The developer will put 650 000 rights for trade, with each unit equivalent to 22 new shares. There are no limits on the number of rights a single investor can acquire. The rights issue precedes the planned equity hike, during which the REIT hopes to sell 14.3 million new shares, with a nominal and issue value of one lev each. Share subscription will start on April 14 and will conclude on May 23. Black Sea Investment will consider the equity hike successful if at least eight million shares are subscribed by investors. The Russians gave an eye to Bulgarian properties and more precisely to local resorts. The British expansion of buyers that started 4-5 years ago quiets down, but it is continued by the Russians. The change of interest towards Bulgarian lands was commented by the participants in the discussion for the market of vacancy properties by the time of the press conference BalRec. Sofia city hall-owened metro operator Metropoliten called a new tender for the construction of a new section of the metro network, Dnevnik daily reported on April 7. The previous tender for the section connecting Nadezhda junction with Cherni Vruh Boulevard was called at the turn of the year and later cancelled because no bidder offered an acceptable price. Metropoliten will finance the project with European Union structural funds under operational programme Transport. The new public procurement is divided into two lots. The first, linking Nadezhda junction to Patriarch Evtimii Boulevard, has a cost cap of 400.46 million leva, value-added tax (VAT) excluded.
