Pamporovo AD, the company that manages Pamporovo resort in Bulgaria, plans to extend its ski area to the village of Stoikite with the construction of three-kilometre six-seater chair lift. It has already received the environmental impact assessment from the environment ministry and estimates the costs of the project at 13 million leva, investor.bg said. The lift will service two new ski runs with a total length of seven kilometres, which will be built in 2008. The project is part of the wider plans to connect the ski zones in Chepelare, Pamporovo and Perelik, investor.bg said. Exchange rate movements are becoming more of an issue to holidaymakers, industry analysts have revealed. According to currency specialist Travelex, leisure travellers are becoming "increasingly savvy" with regards to financial fluctuations and taking them into account when booking trips abroad. John Nicholas, director of the organisation, said that this has led to people travelling to places where they can get more for their money. This has become particularly apparent in recent weeks, as the pound has fallen to a record low against the euro, which means general expenses in eurozone countries will cost much more. The draft bill of Bulgaria's Condominium Act is ineffective and has been written in such a way as to serve the interests of heat, electricity and water utility companies, professor Vladimir Petrov from the Civil Association against Corruption and Illegal Construction said, as quoted by Dnevnik daily. According to Petrov, the draft law in its current form aimed to deprive properties from owners who do not pay their utility fees. If the draft law is approved by the Government, the heat, water and electricity utility companies will sign a single contract with the whole building as a legal entity and not separate contracts with each individual.
