Bansko Bells ski and golf residence in the Bulgarian mountain resort of Bansko is going to be turned into the first certified eco-friendly development in the area, the company announced in a media statement. “We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the green engineering analysis,” said Vasil Alexandrov, president of A&V Building, the land development company. “In addition to all the energy saving features already incorporated into the building design we will be able to offer our customers better ways to dramatically reduce their heating bills during the winter season and to enjoy low-cost air conditioning during the summer months. Inexpensive property continues attracting British buyers to specific countries in Europe, Macedonian newspaper Vreme reported quoting a BBC report on Bulgaria. Yet, reality was different from the expectations of foreign buyers, the report said. Formerly communist East European countries failed offering major investment return opportunities. Only Five Per Cent Of Coastal Constructions In Bulgaia Illegal Minister 12/03/2008
Bulgarian National Assembly will vote on second reading coastal construction regulations. Regional Development and Public Works Deputy Minister Savin Kovachev said that only five per cent of the construction on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast was illegal. Ten to 15 per cent of the illegal buildings had already been torn down. Buildings constructed under the old law would not be demolished, Kovachev said as quoted by Darik Radio. The draft law defines the territory of Bulgaria's Black Sea coast and beach and the powers of the local authorities. Regulations would also guarantee free public access to the coast and environment protection, Darik said. more

57 Construction Units At The Seaside Will Be Demolished 14/03/2008
Bulgaria's Directorate for National Construction Supervision (DNCS), which started inspecting the legality of completed and ongoing construction along the Black Sea coastline on February 25, has already issued orders for the demolition of 57 units. Twenty five of them are on the north coastline and 32  are along the southern coast, the institution announced on its website. Аccording to the Spatial Planning of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coastline Act, which entered into force on January 1 2008, all entities erecting illegal constructions on the beaches were obliged  to voluntarily demolish them within a month of the law coming into effect.
