Property Prices Rise In Bulgarias Blagoevgrad 12/03/2008
Property prices in Bulgaria's town of Blagoevgrad rose by 15 per cent in the past two months, Darik Radio reported. Blagoevgrad is in south-western Bulgaria at the foot of the Rila and Pirin mountains. The town is 54 km west of Bansko resort. The prices of property under construction was 450 leva sq m until recently. Currently prices reached 500 to 550 euro sq m, Darik said. Builders said that the rise in the prices was due to the rise in the cost of construction materials, Darik said. Property in Blagoevgrad had become the most expensive in the region, even more expensive that that in Bansko, Darik said. more

The latest Global Property Hot Spots league compiled by currency specialist HIFX has shown enquiries for cash aimed at purchasing homes in the pair of increasingly popular destinations for British skiers rose substantially in February. Interest in Canada rose by 66% during the month, while enquiries for Bulgaria increased by 17%. But both continued to hold a far smaller proportion of all enquires – 9.4% for Bulgaria and 2% for Canada – than old favourites Spain and France, which attracted 25.25% and 17.8% of all interest respectively. Interest in Australia, which had risen rapidly in January, fell back substantially – dropping by 63% to 10.6% of all enquiries – while demand for the United Arab Emirates, home to Dubai, fell 79% to 1.5% of all enquiries. No Real Estate Bubble In Bulgaria Unicredit Bulbank 10/03/2008
Even though yields have decreased in recent years, Bulgaria's property sector was still a sound investment, fetching satisfactory returns at low risk, the chief executive of Bulgaria's biggest bank, UniCredit Bulbank, Levon Hampartzoumian told news conference. It was also unlikely to suffer the repercussions of global credit crunch, because business climate and economy models in the country followed a different pattern. After the initial bloom of real estate, price growth was expected to slow down to 15-20 per cent year annually, compared to 34 per cent rise last year, which showed a maturing market.
