500 000 Sq M Office Property For Sale In Bulgaria 12/03/2008
Nearly 500 000 sq m of office property will be offered for sale on the Bulgarian property market in the coming year or two. This is the total area of the projects that were being launched, Forton International (FI) consulting company data quoted by 24 Chassa daily showed. FI said that tenants had already applied for 120 000 sq m of office areas. It did not mean though that supply would exceed the demand, because the applications were made before the office projects were finished. Often significant shortage of office property was registered, the FI said. New companies appeared on the market, others were enlarging their business and needed more space. Swiss Properties Continues Construction In Irakli Despite Ban 10/03/2008
Although authorities recently suspended construction of a holiday complex in Irakli-Emine because the area was a Natura 2000 protected area, the developers, Swiss Properties, have not ceased construction works, propertywisebulgaria.com said. Trees have been cut down and the Vaya river banks has been destroyed to prepare the terrain for the construction of hotels, Nadezhda Maximova from the "Save Irakli" environmental organisation told Dnevnik Daily. The area owned by Swiss Properties formed 20 per cent of the future Natura 2000 ecological network zone of Irakli-Emine, environmentalists said. Danube Bridge 2 Construction Delayed By Four Months 15/03/2008
Construction on the second bridge across the Danube river between Bulgaria and Romania would be delayed by four months to September 2008, Bulgarian radio station Darik reported on February 19 2008. The reason for the delay of the project that would link Vidin in Bulgaria to Calafat in Romania, known as Danube Bridge 2, was that Spanish construction firm Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) had not filed its technical project with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, from the Ministry claim, Darik quoted the ministry as saying. Plovdiv applies for two projects financing in the sphere of culture-historical monuments in front Norwegian authorities. The first project is of renovating and restoring of ancient Nebet Tepe and the other is about the Roman stadium. Unlike other real estate sectors, where location, construction quality and infrastructure dictate the market, in Bulgarian mountain resorts the client is the crucial price-formation factor. Currently, around 90 per cent of winter holiday property buyers in Bulgaria are foreign. Just two years ago British and Irish investors formed the core of mountain holiday properties buyers, responsible for an 80 per cent market share. Bulgarians contributed  only a few per cent.
