Bulgaria's Linexa Property plans a 20 million euro investment in a new residential complex to be constructed in Bulgaria's coastal town of Kavarna. On July 6 Kavarna mayor Tsonko Tsonev revealed the plans for the new complex to be constructed near a golf course, SeeNews reported. Construction work had already began and the 420-apartment complex would be completed within two years, Tsonev said. The complex is the latest in a series of large-scale UK, Spanish and French investment over the past years. Some of the projects include the construction of a golf course, hotels and holiday villages. The increased interest in Kavarna property resulted in a record income from land deal taxes. People who have bought holiday homes abroad only tend to spend about a month in their overseas property, new figures have revealed. According to a study by HolidayLettings.co.uk, second home owners from the UK occupy their foreign residence for an average of four weeks, reports Homes Overseas. This has prompted the organisation to suggest that they make the best use of their property during the remaining 48 weeks of the year. Bulgaria To Possibly Introduce Compulsory Consolidation Of Farming Land 14/11/2008
Bulgaria must adopt a new legal mechanism to force land owners to consolidate their plots when 51% of them agree on such move, as proposed by Vesselin Petrov, Executive Director of the ELANA Property Management.According to the proposal, the remaining 49% of the owners would have to accept the consolidation regardless of their opinion.The proposal was discussed on Tuesday at a conference dedicated to investments in farm lands.Valery Tsvetanov, Bulgarian Agriculture Minister and Kamen Kolchev, Chair of ELANA's Board of Directors united around the idea that land consolidation was the main issue for Bulgarian agriculture.Kolchev further stated that the consolidation must become a priority for the next Bulgarian Cabinet.ELANA is one of the biggest non-banking financial groups in Bulgaria... more

The number of Finnish tourists in the last years decreases. The unpleasant tendency was commented by the Finland Ambassador to Bulgaria. In 2005 Bulgaria was visited by 90,000 Finnish people, while in 2007 their number decreased to 65,000. No matter that Bulgaria ranks third in attractive tourism destination according to the Finnish tourists. They like Bulgaria a lot, but also have very serious remarks about local services and loud resorts. The stock exchange between Bulgaria and Finland had increased three times more in the last 2 years, informed the Ambassador. He commented that despite the increase he is not satisfied by the exchange level, which counts $ 100 million per year.
