Bulgaria could earn round 100 million USD yearly from congress tourism, the Bulgarian MEP Biliana Raeva considers. According to Raeva words the congress tourism is one of the most successful tourist branches and our country should stake more on this sphere. A business tourist leaves few times more money than the ordinary one by his visit to a concrete country. Round 400, 000 people have visited Bulgaria for business in 2006. Minimal drop in the amount of this kind of tourists is marked in 2007, but for the first 5 months of the present year, the branch marks raise of 16,6%. Unlike other real estate sectors, where location, construction quality and infrastructure dictate the market, in Bulgarian mountain resorts the client is the crucial price-formation factor. Currently, around 90 per cent of winter holiday property buyers in Bulgaria are foreign. Just two years ago British and Irish investors formed the core of mountain holiday properties buyers, responsible for an 80 per cent market share. Bulgarians contributed  only a few per cent. Federal Development, an international real estate development and asset management company, and Bulgaria's Petrol Holding, the second largest oil products wholesaler in the country, said on February 19 2008 they agreed to create a joint venture that would focus on developing mixed-use real estate opportunities in Bulgaria. Initial plans focused on converting and redeveloping approximately 50 sites, owned by different entities within the Petrol Holding group of companies, including Petrol AD, Naftex Petrol and Evrocapital Bulgaria, which manages its real estate assets.
