Bulgaria Tops Global House Price Index 30/05/2008
Price increases in the lodging property sector worldwide slowed down in the first quarter of 2008 to reach 6.1 per cent on an annual basis. But Bulgaria still heads the price hike, according to the Global House Price Index of UK’s real estate company Knight Frank. The price increase registered in Bulgaria was 31.5 per cent for the first quarter of 2008, investor.bg said. Bulgaria also occupied first place in the same ranking for the last quarter of 2007 with a 33.7 per cent price increase. Singapore ranked right after Bulgaria with a price increase of 29.9 per cent year-to-year, followed by Hong Kong with 28.8 per cent. The leadership of thermal power plant (TPP) AES – 3C “Maritsa East-1” presented today the built steel construction of Generator 1 of the plant near the Bulgarian town of Gulubovo. Official guests at the event were the economic minister Peter Dimitrov, the US ambassador to Bulgaria John Beyrle, informs the Economic portal of Stara Zagora. According to the plan, the plant with a power of 670 megawatts should start working in 2009 and will be the most environment-friendly one on the Balkans. Currently, however, there is a delay of 7 months which the investor promises to compensate. Carrefour To Build Mall In Stara Zagora 09/07/2008
Carrefour, the French hypermarket chain, announced plans to build a retail-entertainment complex in Stara Zagora, weekly Stroitelstvo Gradut said. The total investment will amount to 10 million euro as the property itself will be situated on a land plot of 20 900 sq m. The project features a mall, whose retail space will be 14 575 sq m, as well as hypermarket on a further 6324 sq m. Architect Ilian Iliev of Planning Ltd. has been picked todesign the mall, with Carrefour currently still looking to select a construction company to build it.
