The total number of holiday home units in Bulgaria “increased dramatically” over the first half of 2007, a Colliers Bulgaria report showed. Supply of holiday homes in the mountain resorts increased by 52 per cent with more than 10 000 new apartments offered in the market. Nearly 80 per cent of new apartments were built in the Bansko resort and the area. Another 13 500 newly built apartments were offered for sale in the coastal resorts over the same period, amounting to a 39 per cent increase, the report said. More than one third of these new holiday homes were built in Sunny Beach. The total number of holiday homes in June 2007 exceeded 76 500. Supply continued to exceed the demand. Enemona To Invest 43m Leva In Lom Municipality 26/03/2008
Engineering and construction company Enemona plans to invest about 43 million euro in Lom municipality in 2008/2009, company representatives told investor.bg on March 25. Enemona will start the construction of a pellet fuel factory, as well as a central heating plant, which will serve the needs of Lom area. The two plants are expected to become operative by the turn of the winter season this year. Total investment earmarked for the two undertakings would come to 10 million leva. The company also plans to build a logistic centre and business park, on which it plans to spend 23 million leva. 90, 000 tourists from Ireland had arrived last year in Bulgaria and their amount I expected to double during this tourist season. That was announced by the Irish ambassador Jeffrey Keating by his visit in Varna. Bulgaria and Ireland have very good opportunities for academic exchange; in this connection the ambassador will meet in Varna the directions of Economical and Medicine Universities to achieve concrete contracts. There also will be established partnership between the Varna Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Commerce Chamber of Cork city.
