Irelands Sunday Tribune Borovets Among Top 10 Property Investment Destinations For 2008 15/03/2008
The Irish Sunday Tribune newspaper has ranked Bulgarian ski resort Borovets 6th in its Top 10 of the most lucrative property locations, Dnevnik daily reported on March 4. The list is topped by the world's fastest growing city, Dubai. Also on the list (in that order) are Ibiza, Poznan, Toulouse, Geneva, Orlando, London, Hurghada and Portugal's Silver Coast. According to the newspaper, Bulgaria has been one of the hottest markets in Europe for the last number of years. “But in the rush to bag a bargain here, the property market in some parts of the country has become a little too crowded and not as cheap as it once was,” Sunday Tribune reports. About 60 Per Cent Of The Apartments In Winslow Gardens Sold Offplan 01/04/2008
Investment company Winslow Developments has sold about 60 per cent of the apartments in its residential complex Winslow Gardens in Sofia’s Manastirski livadi borough even before starting construction on the first phase of the gated community, the company said in a statement on March 31. Some 80 per cent of the purchases fall to Bulgarians, most of them young families with children. Unlike other real estate projects, built for investment purposes, around 80 per cent of the units were acquired to serve as first home. As previously reported, Winslow Development recently closed the tender for choosing a chief contractor for the first stage of the project. Foreigners To Be Able To Buy And Inherit Property In Bulgaria 12/03/2008
The Cabinet decided on November 2 that foreigners in Bulgaria will be able to buy and inherit property in the country. On November 2 the Cabinet approved changes to ownership laws, Focus news agency reported. The decision makes Bulgaria's Constitution and the ownership regulations listed there compatible with European norms on the free movement of capital. Foreigners would be able to acquire Bulgarian agriculture and forest plots starting January 1 2007. Changes to the Constitution would result in changes in four other regulations. These focus on protected territories, ownership and use of agriculture plots, forestry regulations and regulations for restoring ownership over agriculture and forest plots. more
