Returns on investments in first-class hotels in Sofia were around 8.5 per cent at the end of 2007, thus outstripping the yields generated by office and retail developments, which ranged between 7.5 and 7.85 per cent, respectively, and equalling returns from logistic space, a recent analysis of CB Richard Ellis consultancy, showed on March 10. In terms of yields, Sofia ranked second after Moscow, where returns on hotel investments averaged 9.25 per cent, and was the best-performer among the capitals of the countries across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Hotel Construction Violations Examined In Bulgarias Bansko 13/03/2008
Starting March 19 the Directorate for National Construction Control (DNCC) will launch a series of inspections concerning hotel construction in the winter resort of Bansko. The first inspection phase will last until March 28 and will target hotels under construction and the ones set up from 2004 to 2006, mediapool.bg reported. For that period, Bansko municipality issued more than 400 hotel construction permits. In case all plans are followed these hotels will have the capacity to accommodate 30 000 people. Inspectors will examine plans and the manner in which construction works were carried out. DNCC will also check if a company is supervising construction works and whether all safety requirements are met. Results from the first inspection will be announced on April 6. more

The First German Tourists Arrived In Bulgaria 19/03/2008
For another year the first tourists that arrived on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast are Germans. The specialists point that these "early guests" are regular visitors of Bulgaria attracted mainly by the familiar atmosphere here and for instance also by the possibility to be catered by same waiters every year. The number of the first German tourists is already 450 and they will celebrate the Ouster in Bulgaria. According to the tour operator firm „Kur-Club", the vacation in the beginning of the spring amounts to between € 1000 and 1600.
