Investment in British property offered higher return rates and lower risk than a similar deal concluded in Bulgaria, representatives of the British consultancy agency Assetz said. On Friday October 27 the agency presented research on the property investment opportunities in Bulgaria, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. In the past months the situation in Bulgaria began to change. The annual credit growth decreased significantly from 36 per cent in 2005 to 13.9 per cent in September 2006. Prices of property located in attractive regions, like Bansko winter resort, decreased during the second quarter of 2006, agents said. Cabinet Plans Amendments To Concession, State Properties Laws 14/03/2008
The cabinet will propose amendments to the legislation regulating concession contracts, state properties and coastline control in order to promote public-private partnership, Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev said at a news conference after a meeting of the Council for Coordination, Control and Implementation of Infrastructure Projects of National Importance. The news conference was attended by Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski, Economy and Energy Minister Peter Dimitrov, Transport Minister Peter Moutafchiev, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Assen Gagaouzov, and Environment and Water Minister Djevdet Chakurov. Foreign capital that Bulgarian property attracted with the quickly rising prices is moving to other countries, offering different opportunities. Companies that remain actively involved are ready to wait patiently and develop properties, while searching for strategic investors, Dnevnik newspaper reported.
