Bulgaria has been ranked ninth among Germany's most popular tourist destinations by the GIATA-Ranking Agency, the Bulgarian Union of Tourism Investors announced. Bulgaria has improved its ranking index from 1.7 in March, 2007, to 2.2 in March, 2008. Spain ranks first as a destination for German tourists, followed by its island Maiorca, Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Tunisia, and Thailand. The ranking was based on analysis of the work of 16 000 travel agencies in Germany, offering reservations at 60 000 hotels around the world. Bulgaria is the only former Soviet Bloc country in the top ten of the ranking. None of the Bulgarian Black Sea resorts, however, is in top ten of the resorts most visited by Germans. Spanish Pamplona City Helps Varna In Eu Money Absorbtion 21/04/2008
The leadership of the Spanish city of Pamplona is ready to co-operate with Bulgarian seaside city of Varna for preparation of projects in absorption money from the EU funds. This was announced by the time of the meeting between Varna municipality chief peter Karandilov and the mayor of Pamplona professor Yolanda Angulo. In Navarre's government exists special department that works with EU projects, helping this way the drop in the unemployment rate. The most developed sectors in Pamplona are biomedicine and entering of renewable energy sources. Common projects in these spheres will be realized between the University in the Spanish city and the Technical University in Varna. more

Consumers in the UK are continuing to show interest in buying property abroad, despite the ongoing economic problems across the world. ShelterOffshore.com said the recent slowdown in the global economy has led to many people's finances being stretched. However, it said that while consumers are spending frugally and saving less money, many are still keen to make a foreign investment. According to the online portal, Britons have an "insatiable desire" to own a house in a sunny location. The website commented: "Phrases like 'credit crunch' and 'global financial crisis' are having little effect on us resilient Brits."
