Us ITT To Invest $400 Million In Bulgaria 11/04/2008
US company ‘ITT', active in the defence and civil sectors, plans to invest $400 million in Bulgaria, told from Balkantel, the company's local representative, quoted by Dnevnik a.m. ‘ITT' plans to build new production facilities as part of its local expansion. The company is after one of the major contracts for the modernisation of the Bulgarian armed forces: the procurement of communication and information systems for the general staff, land forces, navy and the air force, sources told Dnevnik. For the purposes Bulgarian Defence Ministry should pick a foreign strategic partner with prior experience in the development of systems employed. ITT has been chosen for that partner. more

Soon Dobrinishte town (near Bansko resort, Pirin Mountain) may become center for not only winter, but also summer tourism, money.bg announced. The availability of mineral water offers quite good conditions for the development of balneal tourism, Bansko mayor Alexander Kravarov considers. Dobrinishte is well known as balneology resort because of its famous from antiquity times mineral springs. Balneo - procedures are offered in two of the vocational stations, additionally there are 3 mineral swimming pools for public usage. For the development of winter tourism, 45 kilometers new ski tracks will be made and ski route from ‘Goce Delchev' chalet to Dobrinishte town will be traced out. more

The global real estate company ERA has predicted a 15% increase in the prices of real estate properties in Bulgaria in 2008. According to ERA, the number of real estate deals in Bulgaria in 2007 grew between 4% and 5% to reach a total of about 325 000. 25% of the deals were made by foreign buyers. Two-room apartments with an area of about 60 square meters remain the residential property of greatest demand on the Bulgarian market, the ERA research shows. Bulgaria's annual increase of the residential credits is estimated at 62%, with an average annual increase of 7,1% in the Eurozone. The most preferred loans in Bulgaria are for EUR 30 000 with a 25-year repayment period. ERA's research on Romania has found that the real estate prices there would go up at about the same rate... more
