Office Space In Bulgarias Capital Increases To Nearly 600 000 Sq M In First Half Of 2007 12/03/2008
Office space in Sofia increased by ten per cent in the first half of 2007, compared to the same period of 2006. Research from Colliers International Bulgaria showed that Sofia now had a total of 606.500 sq m of class A and B office space. According to the report, most of the office space in Sofia was located in the city’s suburbs. Currently more than 330 000 sq m of office space is being constructed in the suburbs. Rental prices continued increasing in the first half of 2007. In the suburbs, rent for class A property varies between 12 and 26 euro per sq m, per month. The office space market is growing, but it is mainly driven by companies’ relocations and expansion rather than new international entrants in the country, Colliers Bulgaria Managing Director Atanas Garov said. more

First Ecoinnovation Hotel Constructed In Bulgaria 13/03/2008
The first eco-innovation hotel in Southeastern Europe will be constructed in the Bulgarian village of Zdravkovets. Hilltop hotel will feature wind mills, local purifying devices and the utilisation of rainwater. A monitoring system will indicate the quantity of electricity produced and consumed at the hotel, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. Time foundation is among the project executors, foundation representative Elena Petkova said. It takes part in the public-private partnership behind the project that was created in 2006. Gabrovo municipality and two foreign companies are also taking part in the project. City Of Rousse May Increases Its Contribution To Multipurpose Development 14/03/2008
Rousse municipal council will review a proposal to increase its assistance to Project Rousse, a joint venture set up with Mall Rousse Invest, Prista Oil and Densi story. The venture has been set up to build a sports auditorium and a complex of entertainment and sporting venues, a business centre and hotel as well as commercial facilities. Rousse Municipality contributed to the project by granting building rights and an unfinished construction site, valued at 13.7 million leva. The proposal provides for adding 42 676 sq m to the building rights area contributed by the municipality. The development's total build area would therefore  approach 140 000 sq m.
