Bulgarian coastal Shabla municipality has asked the energy ministry to update the regulations for the construction of wind power facilities, allowing local authorities to have the first look when it comes to new investment proposals for wind generators, Dnevnik daily reported on March 19. The town hals wants to prevent the use of second-hand wind turbines, which have a shorter lifespan and are less environment-friendly. Greek, Spanish and Portuguese investors have all been reported as interested in wind-power generation opportunities in the Shabla area. German utility company E.ON is also among the potential investors in the municipality. Holiday Complexes Along Bulgarias Black Sea Coast Keep Attracting Investors 12/03/2008
The interest in holiday complexes along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast increased 3 to 5 times compared to 2006, Nikolai Pehlivanov, owner Green Life Property Development, said. Real estate prices along the southern coast increased by an average of 18 per cent on annual basis, despite the prognosis of trade decline and reports of foreign investors’ withdrawing, Focus news agency said. Holiday properties in the winter resorts were the most expensive in the country. In the Bansko and Pamporovo mountain resorts prices reached 1200 to 1300 euro per sq m. In the summer resorts real estate was sold at 1000 euro per sq m, Pehlivanov said. The difference in the prices results  from the more expensive construction in the winter resorts. Large Retail Streets In Europe Untouched By Global Credit Crunch 14/03/2008
The segment of high retail streets in Europe does not seem to be affected by the global credit squeeze, Boris van Haare Heijmeijer, Cushman & Wakefield's head of shopping centres in Europe, said at the 2008’s edition of the international property exhibition MIPIM, held in Cannes, as reported by investor.bg. High-profile commercial streets have maintained the costly rental levels, he added. The number of the interested investors has slid and yet, they still face a fierce competition.
