Prices of unfinished property in Bulgaria's capital rose by 10 per cent for the first nine months of 2006, 24 Chassa newspaper reported. Prices in other big Bulgarian cities also rose by five to seven per cent. Unfinished property prices at the seaside increased by seven per cent, 24 Chassa said. The increase in prices of building materials and segmentation of the market were among the reasons for the price change, 24 Chassa said. High supply also affected the prices. The prices of one room and three bedroom apartments in Sofia rose the most. Companies preferred the construction of two bedroom apartments, 24 Chassa said. Technopolis Pernik Breaks Ground 28/03/2008
The first-sod ceremony of the new Technopolis outlet in Pernik took place on March 25, sgrada.com reported. The future retail unit will be located at 21 Kiril and Metodii Str, near Elena Georgieva sewing factory. The outlet will have a gross actual area of 6 500 sq m, about 2 000 sq m of which is allocated for retail space. There will be more than 100 parking places. Investment is estimated at 5 million leva. Stroyconsult Ltd is the main contractor of the project, opening is scheduled for July. To date, it is the 18th outlet of the hi-tech produces retailer, which has invested more than 111 million leva over the past seven years. more

Increasing number of Romanian investors show interest in the purchase of lodging or a plot in  neighbouring Bulgaria or Hungary. The two countries were most attractive for investment foreign destinations, Romanian daily newspaper Gandul said. Bulgaria's Black Sea coastal resorts interested the majority of Romanian and British property investors, Gandul said. Investors purchase mainly villas. The price of vacation property in Bulgaria is half the price in Romania. A house near the coastal city of Varna costs nearly 30 000 euro. An additional advantage was the better road infrastructure in Bulgaria's coastal region as compared to the one in Romania, the report said.
