An increase of eight to 10 per cent in loan applications for remodelling and furnishing has been registered in Plovdiv, the local office of real estate consultants Europolis said in a statement. Europolis' conclusion is drawn from the data provided by the Plovdiv branches of major banks. The average amount for the renovation of a two-bedroom apartment is between eight thousand and 12 000 euro, a three-bedroom home will take up to 18 000 euro, while to satisfy their taste for luxury, some clients may request up to 30 000 euro. The high prices of land mixed with high expectations of local entrepreneurs were the main problems of  Bulgaria's residential property market. Pablo Rodrнguez-Losada general manager of Spanish developer Martinsa-Fadesa said on April 16 2008 as quoted by Dnevnik daily. He attended the second regional conference Balkan Real Estate Conference (BalREc) held in Sofia on April 15/16 2008. “The only way to beat this is to have clear and accurate information provided by municipalities about the legal state of the land” he said. Revamp Of Culture House In Plovdiv Starts April 7 05/04/2008
Repairs and revamp of the Trade Unions' Culture House in Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv and its re-purposing into an arts centre will start on April 7, the consortium that will carry out the works said on April 4, as quoted by investor.bg. The official launch of the project will set out with a presentation of the architectural and building design in Saint Petersburg Park-hotel. The consortium comprising Greek developer Aktor and its Bulgarian subsidiary won the tender under the Public Procurement Act at the end of last year. The project has also secured the approval of the Plovdiv municipality. The first phase of the revamp is due for completion in 30 months' time.
