The ongoing credit crisis is prompting some people to take the plunge and invest in a foreign property, an expert has said. According to Paul Collins of the BuyAssociation website, foreign property ownership is becoming more and more popular in the UK. This was partially attributed to economic issues such as the slowdown in the British housing market, as this has prompted some investors to seek potential opportunities overseas. He added that the credit crunch is also having an effect, as many are losing confidence in the amount of money they have in their UK property. Property prices in Bulgaria increased by 10 per cent since the beginning of 2007, CreditCenter consultancy company data showed. Residential property market was calm as a result of the high prices, Focus news agency said. The supply was significant, but prices were too high and failed to meet the standard of the property. Most Bulgarians took bank credits to purchase property, CreditCenter said. Bulgarians covered nearly 80 per cent of the value of the lodgings using a loan. Residential Property Prices In Bulgarias Capital Most Expensive In Iztok Complex 12/03/2008
Residential property prices in Sofia saw the highest increase in the Iztok borough for the first six months of 2007. According to Colliers International consultancy agency, prices in the Iztok residential complex went up by 29 per cent in the first six months of 2007, investor.bg reported. The increase on an annual base was 51 per cent. As a result Iztok, became the second most-expensive residential district in Sofia after Doktorska Gradina, where the prices went up by 19 per cent over the fisrt six months of 2007, and by 13 per cent compared with the same period of 2006. The average residential purchase price in Iztok reached 1450 euro a sq m in the first six months of 2007, compared with slightly below 2000 euro a sq m in Doktorska Gradina (Doctors' Garden).... more
