Merrill Lynch Confirmed: Lakshmi Mittal Wants Bulgaria's Kremikovtzi 05/04/2008
“Merrill Lynch” confirmed that Lakshmi Mittal – brother of the current majority owner of Kremikovtzi KMKV.BB is among those who expressed interest in the Bulgarian steelmaking enterprise. At a meeting with the minister of economy and energy Peter Dimitrov, “Merrill Lynch” who are hired as a consultant for finding a new investor in the compnay by the current owner of Kremikovtzi Pramod Mittal, pointed out that they have contacted around 20 steelmaking companies around the world. 7 of them expressed interest in Kremikovtzi KMKV.BB and the most intensive negotiations have been with 3 of them. Spanish Architect Builds Golf Course In Bulgaria Historical Reserve Arbanassi 30/04/2008
The Spanish Architect Eduardo Maria Molas Rifa is going to invest in the creation of a golf course at the Bulgarian architectural and historical reserve Arbanassi in the central part of the country. Rifa is one of the partners at the Arbanassi Golf Park company created specially for investing in the new golf course, which will be located on a plot 500 decares in the eastern part of the village close to the Petropolovski Monastery. Part of the golf course plot is located in the nearby Lyaskovets Municipality, and the municipal administration there is considering how to participate in the project. New Ski Complex To Be Constructed In Bulgaria 12/03/2008
InvestBulgaria Agency approved a project for the construction of a ski complex in the Pirin Mountain town of Dobrinishte. Dobrinishte Ski received a first-class investor certificate on October 26. Once a company receives such certificate, it is entitled to state aid for the construction of some infrastructure needed for the project, mediapool.bg reported. The skiing area would be located in the area between Bezbog Peak and Dobrinishte. It is also located close to Bansko winter resort. In the coming three years the company would invest nearly 260 million leva in the project, mediapool.bg reported. Bulgarian Property Prices Up 22% Jan-sept 07 20/03/2008
Bulgarian property nation-wide prices jumped 22% in January-September 2007 to around 1,120 BGN, shows data released by Bulgaria National Statistical Institute on Tuesday. The biggest hike - over 45%, was registered in the city of Vidin, North-western Bulgaria, followed by Sofia with 34%. The price increase in the first nine months has already beaten the forecasts for a full-year gain of 15% made in early 2007. The residential market in Vidin has seen the highest price increase in Q3 with 20%, followed by Sofia with 15% and Blagoevgrad with 12%. The latest gains reinstate Sofia as the nation’s most expensive housing market with an average price of close to 2,000 BGN/sq m.
