The construction of an intersystem electric transmission network "Maritza Iztok - Nea Sanda" was discussed during the meeting of the Economy Minister and the Greek Minister of development Hristos Folias.The project can start by the end of 2008 and end by 2011.The two ministers signed a declaration on intentions, which calls for an intensification of the cooperation in the field of power engineering.These agreements increase our mutual energy security and the general development of new and clear sources of energy, the Greek Minister of Development Hristos Folias said.Greek investment in Bulgaria has increased two times in the first six months of 2008. Some of Bulgaria's largest real estate companies specialising in property development were in talks to set up an association, Laguna Group manager Martin Yanev said on February 26, as quoted by Dnevnik daily. Investor interest in recent years has been directed at building apartment compounds, which were sold to foreigners, who then rented them out. But lately the market, still largely underdeveloped, has been flooded by companies lacking in both professionalism and experience, which had a negative impact on the market. “Once a complex is erected, it has to be properly maintained and managed by experienced specialists,” Yanev said. Exchange rate movements are becoming more of an issue to holidaymakers, industry analysts have revealed. According to currency specialist Travelex, leisure travellers are becoming "increasingly savvy" with regards to financial fluctuations and taking them into account when booking trips abroad. John Nicholas, director of the organisation, said that this has led to people travelling to places where they can get more for their money. This has become particularly apparent in recent weeks, as the pound has fallen to a record low against the euro, which means general expenses in eurozone countries will cost much more.
