We can expect positive grow of about 2-3% from the German market, compared to the past summer. Fact is that the German market is neither dramatically up, not dramatically down. The British market, at least in TUI firms develops in the same level as in 2007 with a tendency of slide increase. Meanwhile the Scandinavian market there is an obvious drop. This was stated by Valentin Yosifov, deputy chairperson of the Union of Tourism Investors, chairperson of TUI Bulgaria and representative of the international tour-operator for the country. Indian Owners Suspend 70m Euro Project Near Sozopol 10/03/2008
Three Indian entrepreneurs, who have announced earlier their intention to invest more than 70 million euro in building a 30 000-residents town near the Sozopol’s village of Rossen, have had to suspend their plans, Standart daily reported on February 19 2008. The large-scale undertaking has been put on hold after local farmers filed a lawsuit with the Bourgas administrative court against the changes to the village's zoning plan. The Green City, projected to spread 350ha, would feature dozens of deluxe five-storey hotels, residential complexes and single-family houses with their own swimming pools. Natura 2000 Regime In Bulgaria Less Restrictive Than Other Protective Measures 12/03/2008
The regime for the carrying out of investment projects in Natura 2000 protected areas was much less restrictive than the measures valid for national parks and preserves, head of the parliamentary environment and water affairs committee Georgi Bozhinov said. Bozhinov and Parliament speaker Georgi Pirinski met on January 23 representatives of environmental organisations demanding maximum inclusion in the European environmental network. All national parks would become part of Natura 2000, said Bozhinov. Investors had no reason to protest against the introduction of the network, said Bozhinov.
