Last British Tourists To Arrive In Pamporovo April 1 14/03/2008
The last charters of British and Irish tourists for 2007 winter season will arrive at Pamporovo resort on March 23 and April 1, Pamporovo ski school representatives said, as reported by Bulgarian news agency (BTA). Even if the snow cover does not last until then, the visitors will receive accommodation and will enjoy an alternative entertainment programme instead of skiing. They will be taken for walks and sightseeing tours around the region. Tourists have already booked their holiday in Pamporovo and the package includes insurance against lack of snow, BTA said. Residential Property Prices In Bulgaria Up 22.6 Per Cent In First Quarter Of 2007 11/03/2008
The average residential property prices in Bulgaria for the first quarter of 2007 reached 988.2 leva per sq m, data of National Statistical Institute (NSI) showed. The price increase is 9.3 per cent compared to figures for the last quarter of 2006 when the average price reached 904 leva per sq m, investor.bg reported. Most expensive apartments in the first quarter of 2007 were offered in the coastal city of Varna, where the average price reached 1646 leva per sq m, or a 16 per cent increase compared to prices over the last quarter of 2006. Sofia ranks first in percentage increase. Prices there reached 1588 leva per sq m, a 14.3 per cent increase followed by Bourgas, having average price of 1312 leva per sq m. Over the past two years, Greece has staged a “real onslaught” onto the Bulgarian and other Balkan markets, Greek business newspaper Imerisia reported on May 7. Greek construction companies, mainly from the northern part of the country, have been building large residential, office and retail developments in Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania and, recently, Macedonia. At the same time, hundreds of individual investors have been buying homes, which they either rent or use for recreation. Despite the recent spike in Bulgaria, Greek buyers still believe local property prices to be affordable, Imerisia said.
