Mall In Bulgarias Plovdiv Signs Agreements With First Tenants 12/03/2008
During a ceremony on February 20, Mall of Plovdiv signed agreements with the companies that decided to rent space in it. Plovdiv mayor Ivan Chomakov attended the event, Bulgarian news agency BTA reported. Agreements with international cinema company Cinema City, supermarket chain Piccadilly, store chain TechnoMarket and restaurant chain Happy were endorsed. Mall of Plovdiv spreads on an area of 22 000 sq m and investment in the project exceeds 45 million euro. The project is expected to open 1000 work places upon completion. More than half of the available trade areas have already been rented, BTA reported. Construction of the mall began two months ago. Mall of Plovdiv will be completed by the end of the year. more

Mortgage Rates Hit New Highs In September 28/10/2008
Four Bulgarian banks raised the interest rates charged on lev-denominated mortgage loans in September, data from moitepari.bg website, which compares loan and personal finance offers of different lenders, showed.The Moite Pari leva-denominated index, which tracks the average annual interest rates of 20-year mortgages, picked up five basis points to reach 9.61 per cent, the highest since was launched at the end of 2005.Five of the fifteen leading local-currency mortgage lenders tracked by the index have revised their mortgage loan terms. Bulgaria Ranks 4th In Construction Growth In Eu 19/06/2008
Bulgaria holds the 4th place in construction growth in the European Union, according to Eurostat. The data is from the first quarter of this year, informs the Lithuanian agency Delfi, cited by BNR. The highest construction growth is in Slovenia – 32.2%, followed by Romania – 31.8% and Poland – 14.5%. In Bulgaria the construction growth is 13.1%. For the EU countries as a whole this indicator is 2.1%. For the same period of time, the volume of construction has dropped down at the most in Hungary – with 19.2%, Spain - 7.2% and Estonia – 3.7%. more

Interest In Buying Abroad 'is Higher Than Ever' 23/04/2008
The number of Britons who are looking at buying property abroad is now at a record level, an expert has stated. According to broadcaster Amanda Lamb, more people than ever are interested in purchasing a residence overseas. Ms Lamb, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, said that while many are doing it as a lifestyle choice, others are doing it out of financial necessity. "First-time buyers who are finding it impossible to get on the housing ladder in the UK," she commented. Ms Lamb added that about 250,000 people are choosing to leave Britain every year in order to live in another country full-time. The comments came alongside research by A Place in the Sun Live, which found that the prospect of good weather is not the sole consideration for foreign property buyers.... more
