Consumers in the UK are continuing to show interest in buying property abroad, despite the ongoing economic problems across the world. ShelterOffshore.com said the recent slowdown in the global economy has led to many people's finances being stretched. However, it said that while consumers are spending frugally and saving less money, many are still keen to make a foreign investment. Norwegian investment fund will put 8 million EUR in construction of housing area on the site on former barracks, already useless, in Dupnica town, 80 km from Sofia. The shopping malls market segment could face a crisis in 2010, Emanuil Santev, head of real estate department at Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing told participants at the second regional conference Balkan Real Estate Conference (BalREc) on April 15 2008, as quoted by Dnevnik daily. Byala town is preparing to strong tourism season, informed Anastas Trendafilov, mayor of the Black sea municipality. He believes that this summer the resort will welcome more European tourists compared to the previous year. It is also expected growth of the Russian tourists, because they are weakly affected by the current financial crisis worldwide. Trendafilov pointed out that the visa problems continue to get the tourists in difficult positions.
