The investment in property is not as profitable as it used to be, an Industry Watch report shows. Investment in Bulgarian property fails to bring the same material returns, Dnevnik newspaper reported. Other economic sectors take the lead in investment returns. Among these investments are ones in crude resources like petroleum. Property prices increased on the average with 21.6 per cent between December 2004 and December 2005. Currency investment in US dollars is the only one that brought smaller increase of 13 per cent, the Industry Watch report shows. The high construction rate remains constant. Consumers in the UK are continuing to show interest in buying property abroad, despite the ongoing economic problems across the world. ShelterOffshore.com said the recent slowdown in the global economy has led to many people's finances being stretched. However, it said that while consumers are spending frugally and saving less money, many are still keen to make a foreign investment. According to the online portal, Britons have an "insatiable desire" to own a house in a sunny location. Bulgaria is the best value-for-money summer holiday destinations for UK citizens, according to this year’s Best Value Breaks survey by Teletext Holidays and reported by the British newspaper The Sun. The country ranks highly because of cheap flights and accommodation. Morocco was the second best destination. The beer is cheap and you will spend less money in Bulgaria than in Spain, the newspaper said. Food is also cheap. The quality of hotel offers, the climate and the beautiful scenery are the other main factors that put Bulgaria at the top of the rankings, according to the paper.
