The mayor of the town announced that the priority development of the tourism is written in the strategy of Berkovitsa municipal.According to the plans a cabin lift will be constructed from Berkovitsa to Kom zone which is about 16 kilometers east from the town. At the moment the zone offers one ski piste with a drug- lift and three tourism bases with a total number of 100 beds. Construction Behind Russian Church In Sofia Called Off 23/04/2008
The proposal for construction of a building immediately behind the Russian Church in the centre of Sofia was withdrawn on April 22 by the same person who entered the proposal, Sofia's chief architect Petar Dikov. Dikov said he annulled the proposal because he had not seen the drawing for the project, Bulgarian daily Dnevnik said. Next to the church is the building of the Moscow Culture and Business Centre. The plot in the centre of Sofia is at the disposal of the municipality of Moscow under an agreement between then Sofia mayor Stefan Sofianski and his Russian colleague Yuri Luzhkov. Bulgaria Extends Deadline For Rousse Airport Concession Bids 15/04/2008
Bulgaria's Transport Ministry extended the deadline for bids in the tender to pick a concessionaire for the Rousse airport to May 7, weekly Stroitelstvo Gradut reported on April 14. Bids would be opened no later than May 21, according to Bulgaria's regulations on public tenders. The concession covers 1.82 million sq m of land, as well as any infrastructure and buildings that the concessionaire will build on the grounds, according to the tender notice, quoted by the weekly. The tender guarantee is set at 200 000 euro. The concession can be amended to include additional plots necessary to expand the existing runway, subject to re-zoning approval.
