Parliament Passes 'bulgarian Development Bank' Draft Law 24/04/2008
The Bulgarian parliament adopted on second reading the draft law for Bulgarian Development Bank. The Encouragement bank, which was created in 1999 is transformed into Bulgarian development bank (BDB). National guarantee fund and Fund for capital investment will also be created. The bank is established as credit institution – joint stock company, in which the state participation in the capital is not less than 51%. The statute capital of the bank could be increased unlimitedly with decisions of the general assembly. Schemes and instruments for funding of public investments and development projects, which are of high importance to the national economy as well as resources from international funding institutions will be applied through the new bank. Hotels In Sofia Deliver Higher Returns Than Malls, Offices Study 14/03/2008
Returns on investments in first-class hotels in Sofia were around 8.5 per cent at the end of 2007, thus outstripping the yields generated by office and retail developments, which ranged between 7.5 and 7.85 per cent, respectively, and equalling returns from logistic space, a recent analysis of CB Richard Ellis consultancy, showed on March 10. In terms of yields, Sofia ranked second after Moscow, where returns on hotel investments averaged 9.25 per cent, and was the best-performer among the capitals of the countries across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
