Sofia Settles Building Permits Lawsuit Out Of Court 20/03/2008
Sofia city hall, Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the National Association of Residential Developers (NARD) reached an out-of-court agreement on the lawsuit filed against the increased building permits fees by a BCCI and NARD against the city hall, Bulgaria news agency (BTA) reported. The out-of-court settlement was reached at a meeting between Sofia mayor Boiko Borissov and Nikolin Gavrilov, chairman of BCCI, and Plamen Beninski, NARD’s chairman, held on March 18. They also signed a co-operation agreement, which also provides for the establishment of a standing committee of experts, comprising work panels, which are going to discuss, elaborate and propose different amendments and solutions on issues of mutual interest. Ancient Temple-well Restored In Bulgaria 19/03/2008
Sofia. Italian historians will take part in the restoration of the only temple-well in Bulgaria, Stone pages announced. The unique monument is called 'Pusto Gurlo' ('Vain Throat') and is located in Gurlo Village, Pernik area. Scientists dated it from 1400 BCE. Together with Pernik Municipality, the specialists from Italy will make a project to apply for an EU funds grant. The new resources will be used to build a new road to the temple-well, to restore the surrounding objects and a hotel complex to be built nearby. The temple-well is built in the shape of frustum of a cone; in its highest point the aperture is 2 meters in diameter and in the lowest point widens to 5 meters. Tourists To Go Sightseeing By Air In Veliko Turnovo 04/04/2008
The tourists, who visit Veliko Trunovo, will have the unique opportunity to go sightseeing  by the air. The price of 15 minutes ride will be 120 EUR. The municipality has contracted with ‘Olympia Air' for 3 and 4 seats airplanes for the air tours. Most probably the tours will conduct in the evening, when the emblematic for the city ‘Sound and Light' show could be also observed by the air. Big archeological excavations will start in May in Veliko Turnovo, with the aim to be found the remains of ‘St. Ivan Rilski' church. Belgian Firm To Invest 120m Euro In Bulgaria Report 17/03/2008
Belgian company Etex Group plans to invest more than 120 million euro in Bulgaria, Pari daily reported on March 17. Initially, the firm will pour 20 million euro in developing a large warehouse for building materials and the next phase envisages the construction of a 100 million euro plant. This week, the company representatives will be hunting for large plots of at least 15 ha in several Bulgarian towns – Sevlievo, Varna, Rousse, veliko Turnovo, Plovdiv and Assenovgrad, the daily claimed. more

Gated residential complexes are becoming ever more popular with investors in Bulgaria. Interest in such complexes is equally high at resorts and in urban areas in south-eastern Bulgaria, Pari daily reported. The complexes were popular because they were closed off and because of the quality of life that they offered, the report said. Gated holiday complexes are the most popular. Investors close off the complexes and provide security. Because of the lifestyle associated with them, gated complexes are selling faster than their similarly-priced conventional equivalents.
