According to 25 per cent of the property investors in Bulgaria, the purchase of a terrain close to some major city is the most profitable real estate market participation option. Investors purchase such terrains most often for the construction of an office building or trade centre, Novinar newspaper reported. Such types of investment lead in a ranking of the most preferred real estate purchases, according to an Investor.bg survey. Twenty-four per cent of the investors believe agriculture terrains offer good opportunities. At the moment land prices remain relatively high. Prices are expected to go up in the near future. Golf In Bulgaria - Luring The Buyers. 20/03/2008
In 15 years time there will be 40 golf courses in Bulgaria - on the Black Sea coast, around Sofia, Elena, Gabrovo, Trun, and Miroviane. There will be new houses and apartments built around the new courses, which will serve as a “carrot” for buyers. Manuel Ferry Sanches, president of Spain’s Ferry Group, signed a contract with Sofia municipality, confirming his company’s plan to invest 150 million euro in the next three years in the Kuttina golf resort project, which will include a multifunctional modern golf centre, commercial centre, and recreation area with a sports centre including swimming pools and tennis courts. Sweden To Invest In Energy Effectiveness In Bulgaria 27/03/2008
Sweden intends to construct in Bulgaria objects in the area of energy effectiveness, money.bg announced. During the last 15 years Sweden has improved its common energy effectiveness with 30% and has decreased the losts of electricity by transporting. That was announced by vice-minister of energy and economics Yavor Kuyumdjiev after the meeting ‘Opportunities of cooperation between Bulgaria and Sweden', that conducted in the Ministry building. Kuyumdjiev informed the financing of these projects could become as through the structural funds of EU, so through the Swedish export fund. more

Bulgaria Ratings Affirmed With Stable Outlook 09/06/2008
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it has affirmed its 'BBB+' long-term and 'A-2' short-term sovereign credit ratings on the Republic of Bulgaria with a stable outlook. The ratings agency said the ratings on Bulgaria reflect the government's strong track record of appropriate fiscal policy and rapidly declining gross debt, solid growth prospects in the medium term, a relatively strong external balance sheet and the country's E.U. membership. However, S&P said these strengths are somewhat offset by a large current account deficit coupled with high inflationary pressures, due among other things to wage pressures, indicating an overheating economy. Construction In Bulgarias Protected Coastal Regions Continues 14/03/2008
Terrains in the wild coastal region Irakli were offered for sale on the websites of various property companies, inspection of mediapool.bg reported. Houses in vacation complexes were offered for sale on the web. Ads present buildings in close proximity to the beach in some of the last wild Black Sea coastal areas. Over the weekend thousands of Bulgarians signed a petition in favour of protective measures and limited construction in the Irakli region. More than 6000 people have already signed the petition, organisers of the protest said. It aims at protecting Irakli and eight other coastal areas from over-construction. On June 30 the Nessebar municipality is expected to take a decision concerning construction works in the wild coastal areas. more
