New 660m Euro Fund To Invest In Undervalued European Property 14/03/2008
British investment company Laxey Partners will set up a new fund, Terra Catalyst, which will invest in “undervalued” companies and property funds across Europe, company officials said in an interview with investor.bg. The new fund has raised about 160 million euro from institutional investors and will be listed on the alternative investment market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. The new entity will draw a loan from Credit Suisse to increase its investment volume to 660 million euro. It is intent on pouring most of its capital within six months after going public. Bulgarias Capital City To Expand Northwards, Property Agents Say Opposite 11/03/2008
Major investors plan to construct residential complexes in the northern suburbs of Sofia. Sofia chief architect (the equivalent of a city planner) Petar Dikov was to present the idea to the Sofia Municipal Council (SMC), 24 Chassa daily reported. Dikov said that his idea was that SMC define the territories for long-term development. Companies that build in the selected areas would have to undertake to construct infrastructure there, he said. Sofia’s zoning plan also foresaw development of the city to the north of the ring-road. The municipality wants to attract investors to the region by improving access. The authorities plan to construct a freeway to connect to the Hemus and Trakia highways to the east and with the road to Kalotina border checkpoint to the west.... more

Bulgarian Airplane Spartan To Be Shown At Biggest World Airshow 01/04/2008
The Bulgarian military transport airplane 'Spartan' will be shown at the biggest world airshow 'Farnborough', 'Trud' daily informed. The show is conduced every other year and this year it will be in the United Kingdom in July. With a letter to the Bulgarian Ministry of defense, the Italian company-producer “Alenia aeronautica” has requested the Bulgarian plane to be presented at the airshow with the company bearing all the expanses. Usually, the giants in the aviation industry participate in the “Farnborough” airshow. 1480 companies from 35 states took part in the last show.
