Bulgaria Tourism Strategy Calls For New Sector Law 10/03/2008
Anelia Kroushkova, head of Bulgaria's State Agency for Tourism, has asked for a new law on tourism that will put an end to irresponsible and uncontrolled construction in Bulgaria's resorts, Standart daily reported on February 13 2008. Kroushkova wants a working group with the Regional Development and Public Works Ministry to develop new requirements for the density of construction and buildings' height.   She said the ordinance that regulates what is "resort" and "holiday village" and what are the boundaries they could move into, should also be rewritten. Illegal Constructions In Bulgarias Pamporovo Resort 14/03/2008
Two constructions and a facility of hotels in Pamporovo were set up without the needed construction permit, an inspection of the regional directorate for construction control shows. A team inspected all construction sites in the resort, as well as in other populated areas in the Smolyan region, mediapool.bg reported. Inspection results showed that two constructions and another facility were set up without permits. According to the directorate the illegal constructions would be taken down. Some of the violations registered were the lack of proper planning, architectural mistakes and missing documentation, mediapool.bg reported.
