One In Seven International Retailers Present In Bulgaria Survey 14/03/2008
Barely 14 per cent of the international retailers are present on the Bulgarian market, a survey of 250 brands, carried out by CB Richard Ellis consultancy company showed on March 14. The report, called How Global is the Business of Retail, placed Bulgaria in 40th place in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Britain was home to the highest percentage of the world’s top international retailers, with 55 per cent of 250 brands surveyed present, according to the study, which analysed retailer presence in relation to market sectors, country of origin, regional trends and other influences. more

Residential Property Prices In Bulgaria Up 22.6 Per Cent In First Quarter Of 2007 11/03/2008
The average residential property prices in Bulgaria for the first quarter of 2007 reached 988.2 leva per sq m, data of National Statistical Institute (NSI) showed. The price increase is 9.3 per cent compared to figures for the last quarter of 2006 when the average price reached 904 leva per sq m, investor.bg reported. Most expensive apartments in the first quarter of 2007 were offered in the coastal city of Varna, where the average price reached 1646 leva per sq m, or a 16 per cent increase compared to prices over the last quarter of 2006. Sofia ranks first in percentage increase. Prices there reached 1588 leva per sq m, a 14.3 per cent increase followed by Bourgas, having average price of 1312 leva per sq m. Riu Hotels To Run Pravets Golf Resort Hotel 17/07/2008
International hotel chain Riu Hotels & Resorts will take over at the Pravets Golf & Spa resort in Pravets, north-western Bulgaria, Terra Tour Service, the investor in the project, said.Riu has signed on to run a hotel with more than 200 rooms in the resort for a period of five years. The 70 million leva complex, which has an 18-hole golf course, among other facilities, has an area of 100 ha and should open for business by the autumn of 2009.Riu, which tracks its origins to Mallorca in 1953 with a small family hotel, already operates Terra Tour hotels in sea resorts Slunchev Byrag (Sunny Beach) and Zlatni Pyasutsi (Golden Sands) and in coastal city Obzor. more
