Hungarian property developer SCD Holding unveiled plans to expand to Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia, Hungarian newspaper Napi Gazdasag reported on May 21, as quoted by bbj.hu. In Bulgaria, in particular, it would hone its attention to office and commercial property, the newspaper quoted SCD spokesperson Peter Elkan as saying. In Romania it will focus on residential property and in Croatia on tourism. In addition, the company, which plans to list on the Budapest Stock Exchange in the third quarter of 2009, also divested Interfruct Kft Cash and Carry, a 24-unit retail chain, to financial investor Calslane Holdings. A shopping complex will grow on the spot of the former Maychina Grizha cinema in Gabrovo. Investment in the project is 20 million euro, Stroitelstvo Gradut weekly reported. The investor is Mall Gabrovo Ltd., the design was prepared by Uzunov Proekt, the contractor is Force Build and the consultant is Dihris. The gross actual area of the project is 15 400 sq m. The development will have seven levels - two of them underground - with more than 60 outlets, a hypermarket, fast-food restaurants, sophisticated bars and cafйs. The underground garage has 35 spaces. Colliers International Bulgaria announced on November 7 2007 that it had concluded, what it called the largest ever logistics and industrial transaction in Bulgaria for 22 000 sq m warehouse space in Bulgaria's capital. The deal was for a warehouse space and logistics centre at the industrial park Sofia East for distributor Kaven Orbico, a Colliers media statement said. Industrial park Sofia East is an industrial development project in the Elin Pelin municipality, around 20 km from Sofia. A new spa complex, worth 2.5 million leva (1.2 million euro), will be developed in the town of Kyustendil this year, mayor Petar Paunov said, as quoted by local dailyVyara on March 25. It will be a landmark building for the town, located about 70km south-west of Sofia, Paunov added. The compound would be erected near the Ossogovo stadium, through public private partnership, changing the face of the town and hopefully contributing to its tourist attractiveness, according to the local authorities. The infrastructure unit of international financial group Morgan Stanley is screening opportunities for investment in infrastructure projects in Bulgaria, company sources told Investor.bg on May 12. Morgan Stanley Infrastructure was interested in airports, ports, investments in the energy sector, telecommunications and social infrastructure, among others. According to Markus Hottenrott, executive director and head of Morgan Stanley Infrastructure’s European office, the bank was in preliminary talks with a score of local companies, but no deal has been signed to date. Morgan Stanley Infrastructure is generally joining forces with a local partner, strategic or financial, he said.
