Bulgarian banks have started introducing stricter requirements on applicants seeking loans to buy property in Bulgaria's bigger resorts, including Bansko and Slunchev Bryag (Sunny Beach), over worries that these locations faced overdevelopment, credit consultants said, as quoted by investor.bg on June 30. Foreign nationals interested in buying property in Bulgaria and applying for loans from local banks were increasingly being asked to show their credit history for a period of up to six years, the website quoted Tanya Yakimova from Bulgarian Home Loans, a British consultancy firm that focuses on advising foreigners. Construction In Bulgarias Coastal Resorts Banned During Summer Season 12/03/2008
Bulgarian government will impose a construction ban in all Black Sea coastal resorts during the summer season. The draft law for Bulgarian Black Sea coastal development was approved on second reading on April 19. The ban will include all resorts and vacation villages and will be valid in the period from May 15 to October 1. Urgent repair works in the resorts will be the only exceptions allowed. Construction of new vacation villages and the expansion of existing ones will be allowed if these have construction density of 30 per cent, construction intensity of 1.2 per cent and the average height of the building is up to 10m. Requirements for villa areas are for a 40 per cent construction density and intensity of up to 0.8 per cent with construction height up to seven m. more

Shabla’s municipal council has granted land for the development of three golf courses, dobrichmedia.com reported. Construction has not started yet, as authorities are presently working out project details. Chairman of the municipal council Zdravko Yordanov told journalists that the draft plan for the golf complex, which is to be located between the village of Tyulenovo and the Shabla lighthouse, is the one that is at the most advanced stage. It will be realised by Golf Shabla Jsc, which was set up in May 2007 with a share capital of 101 837 shares at a par value of 100 leva a piece as a joint venture between the city hall and Prouchvane i Dobiv na Neft i Gaz Jsc (PDNG, or Oil and Natural Gas Probing and Extraction).
