Hotel Construction Violations Examined In Bulgarias Bansko 13/03/2008
Starting March 19 the Directorate for National Construction Control (DNCC) will launch a series of inspections concerning hotel construction in the winter resort of Bansko. The first inspection phase will last until March 28 and will target hotels under construction and the ones set up from 2004 to 2006, mediapool.bg reported. For that period, Bansko municipality issued more than 400 hotel construction permits. In case all plans are followed these hotels will have the capacity to accommodate 30 000 people. Inspectors will examine plans and the manner in which construction works were carried out. DNCC will also check if a company is supervising construction works and whether all safety requirements are met. Results from the first inspection will be announced on April 6. more

Slide Increase Of German Tourists, Drop Of Scandinavians In Bulgaria 21/04/2008
We can expect positive grow of about 2-3% from the German market, compared to the past summer. Fact is that the German market is neither dramatically up, not dramatically down. The British market, at least in TUI firms develops in the same level as in 2007 with a tendency of slide increase. Meanwhile the Scandinavian market there is an obvious drop. This was stated by Valentin Yosifov, deputy chairperson of the Union of Tourism Investors, chairperson of TUI Bulgaria and representative of the international tour-operator for the country. The Germans that comes in Bulgaria with TUI present 33%, round 25% are Scandinavians, 20% - Britons, 5% - Belgians and 3% - Holland tourists.
