The ongoing credit crisis is prompting some people to take the plunge and invest in a foreign property, an expert has said. According to Paul Collins of the BuyAssociation website, foreign property ownership is becoming more and more popular in the UK. This was partially attributed to economic issues such as the slowdown in the British housing market, as this has prompted some investors to seek potential opportunities overseas. He added that the credit crunch is also having an effect, as many are losing confidence in the amount of money they have in their UK property. Land Plots Worth 262m Euro Sold In Bulgaria In 2007 10/03/2008
Sales of land plots for construction in Bulgaria totalled 262 million euro last year, according to data of consultancy firm Real Capital Analytics (RCA), Pari daily reported on February 18 2008. The report includes data on the performance of office, retail, hotel, industrial space and buildings plots on real estate markets worldwide, but only for deals above 10 million US dollars. In Bulgaria, RCA registered 10 large-scale purchases of plots for the construction of office buildings, which accounts for more than 30 per cent of the big deals in the country. Leisure travellers from the UK could find that their pound goes a long way in Bulgaria, according to experts. The Post Office carried out a study to compare relative prices across the world, as the pound has recently got much weaker against other currencies. In fact, it is now at an all-time low against the euro, which means it will cost Britons much more to spend time in places such as Italy and France.
