Agricultural land funds are turning Bulgaria's inefficiently small rural land plots into bigger and more manageable farms for later leasing to agricultural operators. Ancient Temple Of Goddess Cybele In Bulgaria's Balchik On Sale - Sofia News Agency 21/10/2008
The ancient temple of the Hittite, Phrygian, and Greek goddess Cybele, which was discovered by accident in Bulgaria's Black Sea town of Balchik in May 2007 has been declared for sale, the Varna daily Pozvanete reported.The owner of the 680-square-meter plot in downtown Balchik, the businessman Boris Kushlev, who also owns a leather factory in Poland, has offered it for sale for the price of EUR 1 000 per square meter, or about EUR 680 000 in total.The temple of the goddess Cybele is preserved really well, and according to archeologists, is the only one of its type in Europe. The temple is also the best-preserved building from the Hellenic Age in the Balkans. It includes a number of statutes of Cybele, coins from the time of the Roman Emperor Valens, and other ancient artifacts.In the... more

Construction In Bulgarias Sozopol Banned During Summer Season 13/03/2008
A construction ban will be imposed in the coastal town of Sozopol and will be valid from May 15 to September 30. The ban was enforced in connection to summer season 2007 and tourist visits to the coastal area. Investors have to stop work on all projects in Sozopol and the nearby resorts. Construction companies also have to clean the sidewalks and the surrounding areas from building materials and renew any green areas that might have been damaged. Checkpoints will prevent heavy machinery from entering the resorts during the summer season. more
