Construction In Bansko Resort Frozen 11/03/2008
Bansko municipality major Alexander Kravarov has ordered a halt to construction in the famous mountain resort. The ban covers 28 areas, including the hotel and the villa zones, investor.bg reported. Construction will remain on hold until detailed zoning plans and street regulations for the areas are completed. While the ban is in effect, no permits for construction or change in the purpose of the agriculture land would be issued, investor.bg said. Kravarov’s order is subject to appeal within 14 days. Deputy mayor Lazar Zahov said that the ban affected new construction. “We have to be aware where and what can be constructed and it has to be in conformity with the infrastructure in the region,” he said, as quoted by Bulgarian news agency BTA. more

FairPlay Properties real estate investment trust (REIT), part of FairPlay International Jsc, has signed three loan agreements to secure cash for the purchase of land plots in Sofia residential district Studentski Grad, Dnevnik daily reported. Two of the contracted amounts are investment loans, amounting to 3.75 million euro and 1.35 million euro, while the third is a 1.14 million euro revolving credit. The company is considering buying four adjacent properties in Studentski Grad for the development of a residential and office scheme. The deal will probably be finalised by mid-April, Dnevnik wrote. Greenfuel To Decide On Bulgarian Biofuel Plant In Two Months 14/03/2008
Spanish GreenFuel Corporation would decide within two months whether to build a bio-fuel plant in the region of Pleven, northern Bulgaria, expert.bg reported on March 12. The decision will be discussed at the company's shareholders meeting in May 2008, Greenfuel's technical director Antonio Jose Huertas Moreno said, as quoted by expert.bg. Moreno and Pleven regional governor Tsvetko Tsvetkov arranged a working meeting to discuss the future investment's parameters and the production process itself. Germanwings Renews Flights To Bourgas, Varna 31/03/2008
German no-frills airline Germanwings, owned by Lufthansa, will renew flights between the Cologne-Bonn and Berlin-Schoenefeld airports in Germany to Bourgas and Varna airports in Bulgaria in May this year, according to its summer season schedule made public on its website. Flights from Bourgas to Cologne-Bonn and back would be carried out every Tuesday and Sunday, while flights between Bourgas and Berlin-Schoenefeld would be carried out on Wednesdays and Sundays. Germanwings will also fly between Varna and the two German airports on Saturdays. Tickets can already be booked through the company's website. The offer is valid throughout summer until October. Israeli Company Gets Credit For Business Park Varna Project 07/05/2008
Israeli conglomerate Africa Israel Investments announced on Sunday its subsidiary AFI Europe signed a deal with Investcredit bank for 59 million EUR, Reuters reported. The sum is foreseen to finance the Business Park Varna project in Bulgarian seaside city of Varna. From the company said that acquiring the property and three existing buildings cost 76,5 million EUR. From Reuters explain that Business Park Varna, located near the Varna airport and the Black Sea, includes 35,000 sq m of office space as well as another 15,000 square meters under construction. AFI Europe has 32 real estate projects in eight European countries. Africa Israel Investments has investment projects all around Russia and USA, including projects in the petrol sector. more
